bridesmaids

After trying on many typical bridesmaids gowns, MOH and I decided to give J.Crew dressess a try.  We ordered a few dressies on-line, and we were both very impressed with the quality.  We ended up going with the Sophia dress in silk chiffon.  It's light weight and perfect for our outdoor wedding.  The girls will be picking out their own shoes of there choice in a champagne tone.

Our flower girl will be wearing a off white, 100% silk Dupioni dress from Gymboree.com. (pictured below)  It's very simple, yet so cute.  We plan on also having her carry a colorful orange/fuscia flowergirl basket, and wearing a halo of flowers on her head.

The groom will wear a khaki colored suit with a a white shirt underneath.  He will also be wearing a traditional Mai lei with either pikake or white orchids.

The groomsmen will wear a white, silk, Tommy Bahama shirt similiar to the one pictured. It has a suttle print of hawaiian hibiscus flowers sewn throughout the shirt.   It will be paired with a darker shade of khaki pants, dark brown dress shoes, and a kukui nut lei.

After a few months of dress shopping, I finally have a dress!  It's a Paloma Blanca, style 3853.  It is 100%  Dupioni silk and I ordered it in "natural" which is similiar to an ivory white.  I LOVE the Paloma dresses because of the feel and styles of their dresses.  I knew I had to have one.  I really wanted one with the lace, but I never found one that I loved on my body.  I think my dress is perfect for our outdoor location.  It's simple, yet elegant without going over the top.
I would like to wear blue or pink shoes.  Not sure about a veil just yet.  Simple earrings, and of course, a pikake lei :)

We will not be doing the bouquet.garder toss, but I would still like to weare one.  I am searching for a simple garder in our wedding colors.

update:  Below are some pics of my attire.  The dress was comfortable and lightweight.  I wore my heels for the ceremony and then changed to 3" white flip flops for the reception.  Wearing heels at Lani for the ceremony was not too bad at all.  I loved my shoes and was so glad I decided to go with them!
